Testimonials

Cattle fill out very nicely before we market them. I’ve used Hydro-Lac for eight years. We feed one pound per head daily for two consecutive days before we market our cattle. After further discussion with my Form-A-Feed representative, I will consider using Hydro-Lac during times of heat stress too.

- Doug Loyson

We now pay more attention to our operation and are doing a much better job tracking our cattle. We appreciate the individualized attention to our operation that we receive from Form-A-Feed. They actually walk our cattle prior to making recommendations and take the time to discuss them with us. We are able to make necessary changes prior to items becoming a problem.

When Skylar Stiefvater needed help changing the shape of her Hereford Steer, Stanley, her mom, Carie, reached out to Form-A-Feed’s dealer Central Farmer’s Coop. With the help of Austin Langemeier, Skylar and her steer ended up winning Grand Champion Hereford Steer at the 2024 South Dakota State Fair.
Langemeier recommended the Show Day Show Feed products, Grand Finale and First N’ Goal to help maintain her steer’s weight while transforming his shape. In a matter of four weeks, the Hereford steer made a major transformation. Her steer’s rib shape, depth body and overall mass changed dramatically. Skylar and Carie noted that they didn’t change anything else with Stanley besides the switch to Form-A-Feed products.
“If you set out his mixed ration, Stanley will pick through his feed to find the First N’ Goal”
Skylar has always dreamed of having a Grand Champion Steer at the state fair, and it is easy to see the excitement in her eyes as she retells the story.

Trent Thoennes is on his third year of feeding Form-A-Feed products to his small beef herd. Two specific products Trent has had luck with are the Encompass Mineral Lic with DE-G and Tend-R-Leen 525. Trent said since he has started on the Encompass Mineral Lic 2 or 3 years ago, he has not had any issues with pink eye in his herd. Since he has started using Tend-R-Leen 525, his calves are weaning better and they are finishing faster and blocking up quicker at a younger age. Trent says, “It’s been pretty awesome” since he has switched.

Stealth 5 in tubs helps start calves easier and healthier with less stress. Stress Lic helped with the rate of gain and health of the calf.

Due to an unexpected life event, Steve Howe was forced to make a change on his farm with his cattle diets. He was previously grinding feed with DDG’s which was very labor intensive. He reached out to Form-A-Feed looking for a lic tub to replace the nutrition his longhorn herd was needing. He started his herd on the Form- A-Lic StalkBuster tubs. Conditioning of the herd held through the winter. When his newborn longhorn calves started arriving, they were alert and up and doing well within minutes. This was noticably different behavior from the previous diet he was feeding. Using the Form-A-Lic Stalkbuster tub was less stressful, less labor intensive, and cheaper for Steve.
“No doubt about it, we’ll stick with the tubs.”

- Steve Howe

I am a firm believer in Stealth 5 and so are my customers.

We shipped 50 bulls from MN to Texas about 1,100 miles (18 hours) and fed Hydro-Lac four days prior to shipping at a ½ lb. rate.  The bulls, averaging 2,173 lbs. dressed out at 56-58%.  In comparison, we shipped two bulls only 100 miles (2 hours) with no Hydro-Lac, and they dressed out at 52%. We were impressed!

- Luke Alsleben

In warm weather, it’s a no brainer! It just makes good sense. Hydro-Lac is a tool that should be in everybody’s cattle feeding toolbox.
