LARCHWOOD, IA – Mayer Ranch of Pukwana, South Dakota was awarded the 2018 Form-A-Feed Outstanding Cattleman of the Year Award at the Form-A-Feed Professional Beef Conference at Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, IA on February 21, 2018.

This is the 4th year Form-A-Feed has awarded an Outstanding Cattleman of the Year Award at their annual Beef Conference.  To qualify for this award, a Form-A-Feed representative must nominate a recipient for their commitment and involvement in the cattle industry, community and country.

The Mayer Ranch consists of Lynn and Ann Mayer, Justin, Des, Conner, and Alex Mayer, Wesley Mayer, and Jason and Vicki Cahill.  Lynn is a fourth generation rancher who is now passing along his love, compassion and desire for the ranch life to his fifth-generation ranching sons and daughter.  The family actively serves their community and the world.  Justin Mayer has served in Iraq in 2003 and is a part of the 200th combat engineers and his local legion.  Lynn and Ann are both local EMTs and volunteer firefighters.

“The Mayer family is truly a one-of-a-kind ranching family. I’ve had the pleasure of working with them for many years now and continue to be inspired by their compassionate way of ranching and service to their community,” explained the Mayer’s Form-A-Feed nutritionist, Heidi Doering-Resch. “They are truly a family-driven operation with over six generations being on the ranch. It was my pleasure to nominate them for the 2018 Outstanding Cattleman of the Year.”

Congratulations to the Mayer family!
