Position Objective:

The Technology Services Generalist is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below. This position is a vital part of the overall success of our organization as a manufacturer of animal feed and nutrition products and services.

Technology Services is a shared service that empowers all Nelson Family Companies with innovative technology solutions that drive efficiency, enhance user experiences, and foster sustainable growth, while delivering iconic customer service and value to our employees, customers, dealers, and vendors. The objective of this position is to provide day-to-day application and infrastructure support, cybersecurity protection & support, system administration, consultation & strategic planning, data management & analytics, and artificial intelligence guidance.

This support role will require you to work at our Stewart MN operations at least 4 days a week. In this role, you should be prepared to work in a fast paced, team-centered environment that will challenge you and allow you to use your experience and expertise to develop the company and enhance your continued growth within the animal feed and nutrition industry.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support
    • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, SMEs, and third-party vendors to resolve complex IT issues efficiently.
    • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for advanced hardware, software, network, and user access issues.
    • Coordinate escalations and resolution strategies in alignment with organizational priorities.
    • Maintain and enhance documentation of incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Cybersecurity
    • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security threats, alerts, and vulnerabilities.
    • Administer and optimize security tools, including endpoint protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
    • Support compliance initiatives, facilitate security audits, and contribute to regulatory reporting.
    • Manage user access controls, password policies, and multifactor authentication to enforce security best practices.
    • Conduct employee security awareness training and help develop and enforce cybersecurity policies.
  • Cloud Administration
    • Administer and optimize cloud services, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and integrated SaaS platforms.
    • Manage cloud-based accounts, storage, backups, and application integrations, ensuring security and efficiency.
    • Monitor cloud performance, cost, and compliance with security best practices.
    • Support cloud migration initiatives, new service deployments, and modernization projects.
    • Troubleshoot advanced connectivity, identity, and access issues across cloud platforms.
  • Additional projects required or directed by the Director of Technology Services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, networks, and security principles.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and cloud-based systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed, working well in a team environment.
  • Experience in production and inventory management preferred.
