Cattle Feeding Projections for September 2024
Despite plenty of red on this month’s projections, when compared to last month there is progress. A lot of that is from a drop in the feeder market compared to last month. The theme we have seen this past year of “buying them right” continues this month as a big driver for the chance at profitability. Commodities and ingredients are topic of conversation this month. As you put projections together, look at byproducts available to you and have conversations about ingredient strategies to keep cost of gains reasonable.
As always, we want to stress the importance of risk management when buying a set of cattle, but another thing to consider is protecting your investment from a nutritional aspect.
