This position is a vital part to the overall success of our organization as a manufacturer of animal feed and nutrition products and services.  You will be proud to work for a company with a strong family history in the animal feed industry and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.  We are a company committed to family values, integrity, and innovation.  The objective of this position is to help the efforts of the company’s information and technology systems, assist management with system security, and communicate necessary adjustments and updates to appropriate personnel.  Additionally, this position will be responsible for updating system procedures to enhance system access, necessary employee access and information and ensure system accuracy and developing procedures when needed. The Systems Administrator is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools and details, applications, servers, and email systems
  • Maintain inventory and administration of system hardware, laptops, desktops and software
  • Partner with IT Vendors to deliver IT initiatives that support company goals
  • Collaborate and partner with key personnel and departments to assist and advise project-based initiatives that improve company performance and customer service
  • Handle business critical IT tasks and system updates that provide necessary IT services to all internal and external system users
  • Develop and/or maintain current and future IT systems, infrastructure and networking that is always accessible and properly updated
  • Perform system and server administration including users, security, print services, and system access
  • Handle escalated help desk calls regarding warnings, errors, system monitoring and components to keep systems working properly
  • Monitor system capabilities, tools, and hardware to ensure proper system performance
  • Manage and control system hardware and infrastructure to order, return or dispose of IT inventory
  • Maintain and monitor systems including networking equipment, phones, security updates, internet, and VPN’s
  • Assist the company and departments in troubleshooting, identifying root cause, providing technical support when needed
  • Handle periodic system updates, backups, data and disaster recovery
  • Investigate any significant IT issues and report to leadership
  • Evaluate IT systems and recommend necessary adjustments to maintain plant, warehouse, and production efficiencies
  • Additional projects required or directed by the Leadership Team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in technology or computer science
  • Demonstrated work experience in Information Systems management and risk management
  • Experience in a production environment applying IT system knowledge
  • Communication skills with the ability to build relationships in a group and one-on-one settings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change and process
  • Analytical skills with a strong systems accuracy mindset
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed, working well in a team environment
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Administration including Azure & Intune

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 years of IT administration experience
  • High school graduate with demonstrated experience in IT system management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in basic mathematical calculations and spreadsheet functionality
  • Outstanding analytical skills and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, works well in a team environment
  • Working knowledge IT systems and inventory management
