Position Objective:

The Customer Support Specialist is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below.  This position is a vital part to the overall success of our organization as a manufacture of animal feed and nutrition products and services.

You will be proud to work for a company with a strong family history in the animal feed industry and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.  We are a company committed to family values, integrity, and innovation.  The objective of this position is to serve and support the sales activity in the field, providing sales support to the Production Specialist and producers in product orders along with pick-up/delivery.  Additionally, this position will be responsible to develop customer service initiatives that improve business activity.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional Sales Support to field sales staff, coordinating product orders, delivery information, and necessary sales support information
  • Fill all customer orders and requests in a professional and courteous manner by phone, e-mail, or in person
  • Communicate clearly and effectively all customer requests to ensure order accuracy and ensuring customer understanding
  • Respond to customer questions and problems promptly
  • Communicate product orders and usage to our customers, assisting them in their product selections
  • Coordinate and communicate product delivery with all customers and company representatives, notifying them of all order and/or delivery changes
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions, detailing order requests, problems, comments, and actions taken
  • Resolve customer billing complaints, managing order adjustments and refunds
  • Complete all order forms accurately, ensuring proper document retention
  • Assist all walk-in customers in their purchasing decisions and coordination of product pick-up
  • Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the office maintaining a clean, professional environment
  • Recommend improvements in the customer service process to enhance quality customer service
  • Assist in the processing of incoming and outgoing company mail and postage requirements
  • Additional projects required or directed by the Customer Service and Credit Manager.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree; high school graduate with customer service experience
  • On-farm and/or feed industry experience helpful
  • Logistics and routing experience helpful
  • Previous experience with a strong customer service focus
  • Ability to develop and cultivate relationships
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and demonstrated related computer skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills in a team setting and one-on-one meetings
  • Excellent phone etiquette skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High School graduate
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills and a strong customer service mindset
  • Minimal travel required
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist and/or reach with your arms and legs
  • Ability to safely lift objects and/or products, up to 50 lbs.
