Plant Maintenance Support

Position Objective:

The Plant Maintenance Support position is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below.  This position is vital to the overall success of our organization as a manufacture of Animal Feed and Nutrition Products, specifically in the production and manufacturing of product lines.  This role comes with high expectations and is required to lead and support the company in its mission of feeding the world through professionalism, quality products and innovative solutions.  In this position, you are expected to ultimately work under the guidance and supervision of the Plant Maintenance Supervisor and Production Manager.  In addition, you will work in cooperation with existing staff and support personnel that support and enhance your role in maintenance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the production area in ensuring equipment is running properly
  • Support and assist the Plant Maintenance Supervisor in all areas of plant maintenance
  • Troubleshoot plant equipment when necessary and perform preventative maintenance, as required
  • Ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment throughout the production area
  • Limit the downtime of equipment to ensure ongoing plant efficiencies
  • Organizes and completes maintenance details as requested, assigning personnel, and resolving problems
  • Ensures operation of equipment and calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and processes
  • Maintains quality service by enforcing organization standards
  • Evaluate the overall operation of equipment and make necessary requests and/or adjustments to enhance its overall effectiveness
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment
  • Resolve mechanical equipment issues and ensure equipment is running properly
  • Additional projects required and/or directed by the Production Manager, as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school graduate, or 4-year degree, or demonstrated experience in maintenance responsibilities
  • Experience in production and/or manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance details, (welding, electrical and fabrication, etc)
  • State of Minnesota CCDL certified with minimum of 1-B boiler licensing
  • Maintenance experience with bagging equipment, high speed packing equipment and programming a plus
  • Communication skills with the ability to build relationships in a group and one-on-one settings
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school graduate with experience in production and/or manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in welding and electrical abilities
  • State of Minnesota CCDL certified with a 2-B boiler license
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills and strong problem solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, works well in a team environment
