Position Objective:

The General Manager of K&S Millwrights, LLC is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below.  K&S Millwrights is to be operated as a separate division from the balance of Form A Feed but will enjoy certain joint services and while independent will operate as an important part of the business as a whole.  This operating division is vitally important to the overall success of our business.  Your role is critical in setting safety and quality standards that are consistent with our operations and maintain acceptable margins and profits.  This role comes with high expectations and is required to lead and support the company in its mission of feeding the world through professionalism, quality work and products, and innovative solutions.   In this position, you are expected to ultimately work under the guidance and supervision of the VP assigned to the division.  In addition, you will work in cooperation with existing Form Feed staff and support personnel that support the operating division.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run daily operations to optimize use of resources and create a productive workplace culture.
  • Prospect new business and develop project efficiencies for improved profitability.
  • Manage customer relations in concert with overall company philosophies, focusing on manufacturing opportunities supporting the sales and marketing efforts of the millwright division.
  • Seek product sales of parts and products related to grain dryers, grain elevators, feed mills or other related operations.
  • Seek millwright opportunities to produce customer relationships.
  • Effective inventory management to minimize loss, facilitate orderly purchases and product/supply accuracy.
  • Oversee the logistics of all products/supplies coming into our facilities and out to projects developing efficiencies to improve processes and/or lower costs.
  • Responsible for regulatory compliance including FDA, DOT, OSHA, EPA and various state and local agencies.
  • Develop and execute plans for physical plant and operational improvements.
  • Manage customer complaints related to the millwright’s division, working, and collaborating with other support teams to successfully resolve customer issues.
  • Responsible for informing management of claims or complaints potentially damaging to the company.
  • Recruit, manage and develop, millwright, delivery, and office staff.
  • Build, maintain and support a Safe Work environment and build a strong Safety Culture.
  • Manage maintenance of all equipment and offer leadership proposals for equipment replacement assigned to K&S Millwrights, LLC.
  • Additional projects required or directed by the V.P. assigned to the division.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in millwright’s operations and functionality
  • 5 or more years of experience in P&L management.
  • Logistics and transportation experience.
  • Customer complaint resolution experience.
  • Livestock and agricultural experience.
  • Mechanical skills desired
  • Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management
  • Ability to read, write and perform mathematical equations.
  • Ability to understand complex data, formulations, and information.
  • Ability to interpret complex information and explain its meaning to others.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years’ feed industry experience.
  • 5 or more years of previous supervisory experience in a millwright environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of employees.
  • Good working knowledge of regulatory requirements industry related
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong team building, decision making and people management skills.
  • Analysis of risk management with strong decision-making abilities
