Position Objective:

The Driver/Fleet Supervisor is expected to support the efforts of our logistics and customer service team in leading and assisting with coordination of load and delivery assignments, communicating these assignments to the customer and customer service personnel.  Your goal will be to continue to meet the growing needs of our customers and Dealer partners.  This role is located and based in Stewart, MN

Reporting:  This position reports to the V.P. of Operations

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise drivers and truck maintenance shop personnel and lead the communication efforts with all delivery personnel
  • Ensure the effective communication of load and delivery requests efficiently between our Stewart, MN and New Richmond, WI
  • Monitor and assist in the scheduling of delivery personnel
  • Develop and train personnel on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) related to the delivery process
  • Responsible support for the DOT training programs for drivers
  • Maintain and create DOT files on drivers for all locations, as necessary
  • Involvement in the recruiting of driver candidates
  • Timely performance reviews for all transportation staff – coaching and leading for success
  • Coordinate load information necessary to ensure accurate, timely and efficient loading with Shipping and Receiving personnel
  • Investigate all transportation related customer complaints and incidents, creating corrective actions and follow-up as needed
  • Communicate with staff to resolve load or delivery concerns with customers and dealers
  • Assist Customer Service personnel with customer orders, as necessary
  • Responsible for truck, trailer and transportation maintenance and repairs; creating and maintaining appropriate record keeping
  • Proactively review and assist in back haul opportunities to enhance trucking revenue
  • Promote teamwork between staff members including production, shipping and receiving, drivers and customer service
  • Additional projects required or directed by the V.P. of Operations


Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Fleet Management
  • Proven experience as a logistics coordinator, or supervisory experience
  • Customer Service experience
  • Outstanding organizations skills
  • Excellent communication skills in a team setting and one-on-one meetings
  • Excellent phone etiquette skills
  • Ability to develop and cultivate relationships
  • On-farm and/or feed industry experience helpful
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and demonstrated related computer skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School graduate with multiple years of fleet management experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current Class A CDL, DOT Health Certificate and clean driving record
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills and a strong customer service mindset
  • Ability to encourage and motivate others
  • Minimal travel required
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to safely lift objects and/or products, up to 50 lbs.
