Position Objective:

The Field Sales and Nutrition Intern is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below.  This position is a great opportunity to learn and observe our organization, as a manufacture of animal feed and nutrition products and services.  This role is expected to support the company in our mission of feeding the world through professionalism, quality products and innovative solutions.  In this position, you will work under the supervision of a qualified specialist in the area of the species group you will be assigned.  In cooperation with our existing staff, you will work with our team of professionals, developing an understanding of animal related nutritional issues, developing solutions and problem solving real issues facing our customer today. 


As an intern of Form-A-Feed, Inc. you should be prepared to work in a fast paced, team centered environment, having finished the internship gaining broad experience in various aspects of the animal feed and nutrition industry.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn and assist in communicating product knowledge and product usage to our customers
  • Learn and understand nutritional options and gain insight in formulating nutritional ration support
  • Building relationships with our customers and sourcing best practices and testimonials
  • Learn and apply technical support and services provided to new and existing customers
  • Collaborate ideas and support species expertise within the team and how this translates to our customers
  • Learn how rations and ration support is vital to the organization and its success
  • Learn and assist in providing trouble-shooting support, communicating timely and effectively
  • Opportunities to develop your presentation skills and grow in your role
  • Learn how to effectively communicate nutritional and ration support to our customers
  • Required to assist in a species project, as required by the species team leader, and report on your progress at the end of your internship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working towards an undergraduate degree in Animal Science, Ag Business, and/or emphasis on Dairy, Beef or Swine Science
  • 3 or more years of on-farm experience, or feed industry, research or education experience in the species related field
  • Excellent communication skills in a team setting and one-on-one meetings
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and demonstrated related computer skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills and a strong customer service mindset
  • Some travel will be required
  • Self-motivated with a desire to improve your educational opportunities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist and/or reach with your arms and legs
  • Ability to safely lift objects and/or products, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to listen and understand instructions and information and communicating the same
  • Ability to read, write and perform mathematical equations
  • Ability to understand complex data, formulations and information
  • Ability to interpret complex information and explain it’s meaning to others
