Quality Assurance Coordinator

Position Objective:

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below.  This position is a vital part to the overall success of our organization as a manufacture of animal feed and nutrition products and services.  This role is expected to support the company in our mission of “Feeding the World through Professionalism, Quality Products and Innovative Solutions”. 

You will be proud to work for a company with a strong family history in the animal feed industry and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.  We are a company committed to family values, integrity, and innovation.  In this position, you will assist in the compliance and certification of our Quality Assurance program, tracking, assisting and supporting our quality assurance activities and strategic projects.  You will work in cooperation with the Merchandising and Production teams, assisting in the integration of quality assurance activities that support our mission of quality products and innovative solutions.

This position reports to the Director of Merchandising

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

   75% Daily Quality Assurance Activities

  • Receipt ticket weight variance monitoring
  • Review of back orders and products not shipped
  • Quality testing on inbound ingredients and subsequent record keeping of results
  • Finished feed quality testing program
  • Respond to customer quality concerns
  • Drug and additive verification and reconciliation
  • Internal tracking and support of finished feed for further processing
  • Support production in all quality assurance measures and reporting requirements
  • Work with customers, sales consultants and production facilities when quality concerns arise to find solutions and process improvements
  • Additional projects required or directed by the Director of Merchandising, as needed

 25% Strategic Projects

  • 3rd Party compliance and certification including Safe Feed/Safe Food, HACCP & FSMA
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Manual
  • Food Safety Plan
  • SOP refinements and creation as needed by the business
  • Continuous improvements projects as dictated by the business plan and market needs

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or related field, three years practical experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a team setting and one-on-one meetings
  • Technical and computer related skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry software
  • Comprehensive understanding of merchandising, quality assurance detail and  inventory management
  • Knowledge and experience  with supply chain management
  • Analysis of risk, risk management with strong decision making abilities, negotiating experience a plus

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills with experience in quality initiatives and customer service
  • General understanding of merchandising, quality assurance detail and  inventory management
  • Outstanding analytical skills and a strong customer service mindset
  • Some Travel required, minimal overnight travel
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and works well in a team centered environment
  • Selected candidate to work and office out of the corporate offices in Stewart, MN
