Accounting Assistant

Position Objective:

The Administrative Assistant is expected to meet the qualifications as outlined below.  This position is a vital part to the overall success of our organization as a manufacture of animal feed and nutrition products and services.  This role is expected to support the company in our mission of “Feeding the World through Professionalism, Quality Products and Innovative Solutions”. 

You will be proud to work for a company with a strong family history in the animal feed industry and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.  We are a company committed to family values, integrity, and innovation.  In this position, you will be responsible for multiple companies assisting in accounting support functions, invoicing, ACH, Customer Service, coordination, development and scheduling of company employee events, and HR project support.  In addition, you will assist company leadership in event scheduling and operational organization.

Reporting:

This position reports to the Finance Director

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Finance Director in the role of invoicing, accounts receivable and aid in the back-up of ACH and certain accounting functions, as needed
  • Assist in Customer Service, coordinating various customer requests and follow-up, as necessary
  • Coordinate and schedule internal company meetings and events
  • Assist in the preparation of meeting agendas and coordination of various company events
  • Assist Human Resources in the organization and development of company related HR enhancements, employee recognition and document retention
  • Prepare excel files and forms that detail business related activities, accurately detailing status of these activities and costs associated with these events
  • Provide full support to leadership in organizing of schedules, appointments and travel arrangements, as requested
  • Assist company leadership in administrative support and requests for information and data, as necessary
  • Prepare company letters, responses and correspondence based on internal and external requests
  • Collaborate with other internal departments providing support and gathering of information, providing advice and assistance, as necessary
  • Additional projects required or directed by the Finance Director, as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in qualified field
  • 2-5 years of administrative support experience
  • General experience in accounts receivable, invoicing and ACH
  • General Human Resource experience
  • Strong Customer Service background and experience
  • Great attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Proven event coordination and meeting development
  • Creative, with a passion for details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical and computer related skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, proficient in Excel
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School graduate with 2 year associates degree
  • Proven experience in administrative support, 2-5 years
  • Proven customer service experience, 3-5 years
  • Great attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical and computer related skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, proficient in Excel
  • Understanding of general accounting procedures, invoicing and accounts receivable
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and works well in a team centered environment
  • Selected candidate to work and office out of the corporate offices in Stewart, MN
